Island Booth at the Market, 29 Dec 201229 Dec 2012 Combating the strong wind gusts, and shower-proofing the booth made for a later start for us this morning. Once up-and-running, we took some sweet strips and pix. Family portraits, hot couples, and extended sessions for some of our regular boothers kept us humming. ‘Tongareva’ – our vibrant island-print purple backdrop – was the perfect accent to our new and refreshed ei katu.
A big meitaki ma'ata to everyone who rocked the booth in ’12, we look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Island Booth at the Market, 22 Dec 201222 Dec 2012 Our final Christmas session for 2012, just in time for junior boothers looking for Saturday morning distraction. The girls were throwing down some fierce model poses, with 10-gallon hats and trilbies the props-of-choice. We had fresh faces in the booth as Kukis come home for the Dec-Jan family reunion season. We also debuted our new fashion forward Xmas ei katu; and traded a blow-up for a sparkly blue santa hat.

Alisha’s 21st22 Dec 2012 Direct from the market, we headed in-land Avarua to set-up for Alisha’s 21st-come-family-reunion. With the booth primed, we ducked home and returned in time to catch some awesome family items. Quick pix were a hit with the families, and we took some great portraits. The evening’s prop of choice? The birthday girl :).

Starlight Concert21 Dec 2012 The Starlight Concert was organised by the Impact Youth group, with talented performers singing and dancing up a storm. Outside the AOG Hall, vendors cooked up tasty treats, painted faces and took Christmas pix. The tamariki explored Candy Land and were entertained by the youth leaders. We added showbiz props to our Christmas selection for that Island-Santa-on-Broadway look.

Akaoa Night Market, 19 Dec 201219 Dec 2012 A mini-Christmas celebration, feat. a host of performers including an acoustic set by Jaik Berg, island dance by Mii Andrew, and a guest appearance by Tani and Maiata; the evening compèred by the dynamic trio of Lynch, Marsters, and Vaiimene. A booth highlight were the karoke carols, including automated score card at the end of each track - “Oh look, I got 100, and I wasn’t even singing…”.

Island Booth at the Market, 15 Dec 201215 Dec 2012 Humidity down at the market today almost resulted in ‘Island Booth unplugged’. Meitaki ma‘ata to our boothers for waiting patiently while we battled techno gremlins.
It’s the time of year where people coming-and-going: visiting family; taking a holiday break; or saying a final farewell before leaving the Rock – all great reasons for getting a pic.

Island Booth at the Market, 8 Dec 20128 Dec 2012 More Christmas mayhem at the market today. Gusts of up to 60km were predicted – and we were kept busy retrieving photo bags and errant antlers for most of the morning. Folks stopped by for pix-as-gifts, and our range of new Picture Paradise photo frames proved popular too. The accessory of the day was the sparkling Xmas trilby. A few noothers picked up IB loyalty cards – ask for yours next time you rock the booth.

Christmas at the Market, 5 Dec 2012 – Part 15 Dec 2012 A new location for the annual Rotaract Christmas celebrations this year, with Punanga Nui standing in for the BCI Stadium. This year’s theme was red-and-white, and boothers rose to the challenge with great costumes, pareu, hair peices and face paint. We came to the party with our Christmas props-box, including new sparkling trilby hats, elf caps and extra reindeer noses (thanks Ine)…

Christmas at the Market, 5 Dec 2012 - Part 25 Dec 2012 …From our location near the band rotunda (old stage), we could see the corner of the new stage. Rotaract and Andersons did a great job with the decorations, lighting, and sound; and the night’s performers kept the crowd singing and dancing. We had plans to explore the rest of the market, maybe grab a Kai Pizza, but boothers had other ideas ;). It was awesome to see familiar faces come update their booth-folio, commemorate a reunion, or take a family Christmas portrait. The night ended with a bang with a dazzling fireworks display. Meitaki ma‘ata to Rotaract members and the volunteers - nice!

Island Booth at the Market, 1 Dec 20121 Dec 2012 With Netball in Paradise starting next week, we had a few teams down at the market taking in the sights and sounds. The Mauke Team demonstrated some early coordination skills, with an (almost) full team shot. Inbetween visits from clan Flanagan, we also took pix for Kukis returning home for Christmas, friends chillin’ post exams; and some fairies, spiderman,a wampire, reindeer and St. Nick catching some rays before the big day.
