Island Booth at the Market, 29 Nov 201429 Nov 2014 With the closing of Vaka Eiva and the recent Cookie league tri-series, we had a few sporter-and-supporter groups at the market this morning. The weather alternated between heat and light showers - awesome if you’re amphibious.
Aroko was a bit unsettled so we headed to the harbour with Troy to check out the boats, and I found out about the voyage to Rakahanga. Then back to the markets to pick up a new backdrop from Aunty Poko.
Next week we kick off our Christmas season (weather permitting).

Island Booth at the Market, 15 Nov 201415 Nov 2014 A spell of cloud-cover set our morning off to a great start. The markets were fairly quiet, so we ‘reinvested’ with our favourite vendors. There is plenty of fruit in season, paw-paw, watermelon, pineapple, limes, and cucumber - check. We took quik shots for BFFs, a local youth camp, families and holidaying couples. See you next week.

Island Booth at the Market, 8 Nov 20148 Nov 2014 It was a scorcher at the market this morning. Visitors to the island braved the heat in search of brunch, gifts, and souvenirs. We caught up with newly-weds, BFFs, and family friends. A big meitaki ma'ata to repeat boothers, back to update their island-family-portraits.
Pack-down in the mid-day sun was a killer, but with some fresh nu from Tuhe, a few of the fresh sausage rolls from VMV and the chance to catch up with some of our fellow vendors - win.

Island Booth at the Market, 1 Nov 20141 Nov 2014 After an early-morning tumble (gravel - ouch!), Aroko was in need of consoling, so we headed playground-way, then caught up w. Croc and a mid-morning nap. Back at the booth Justine turned out some sweet strips.
Keep an eye out for our Christmas booth sessions, starting a bit earlier this year in time for overseas post deadlines.

Island Booth at the Market, 25 Oct 201425 Oct 2014 Today was another scorcher. We had to get to the playground early - before the slides heated-up. The new water fountain helped cool Aroko down, then back to check on the booth. Plenty of locals came to visit us, bringing new friends, visiting family and pepes for quik shots. We also commemorated a significant birthday, family holidays, and a honeymoon.

Island Booth at the Market, 18 Oct 201418 Oct 2014 The weather was defn. Spring-y today. Rain. Sun. Rainbows. Repeat. We caught up with Nikki and Kyle, here to celebrate their first anniversary (seems like just yesterday…). Visiting cousins and friends underwent booth basic training, and unwilling spouses took their shots. Aroko got a moko tattoo, went to the playground and watched a bit of the show, feat. some of our regular boothers. CU next week.

Island Booth at the Market, 11 Oct 201411 Oct 2014 Plenty of time to sight-see at the market this morning. Foraged for our weekly fruit and veg., picked up a savoury pastry from the Dearloves: spinach, feta and mozzarella (but missed out on the sausage rolls again). Met a family here for an unveiling and convinced them to bring the younger members along to tonight’s Rotaract Junior Spring Ball. With only minutes to spare, took visiting friends on a guided tour of the market, ‘top-spots’. Then a quick(ish) pack down and relocation to the Aotearoa Centre…

Island Booth at the Market, 27 Sept 201427 Sep 2014 It’s time for the NZ school holidays – w. plenty of families making the most of a tropical break. We also had local families hitting the booth for some fun. While Justine took care of the pix, me and Aroko took a tour of the HMNZS Otago, in port after helping out with some CI fisheries surveying and training exercises. We bought our first pineapple of the season, and it’s a relief to see nita (paw paw) and meika (banana) available again. Meitaki to everyone for rockin’ the booth.
